High-temperature coating system selection by service temperature and coating function

System Selection

High-temperature coating selection should start with the actual service temperature, whether exposure is dry heat, whether the surface needs insulation or easy-clean performance, and whether the project is new production or maintenance repainting.

BLA-400 for black matte silicone coating up to +400°C dry heat
BLA-600 for aluminum silicone coating up to +650°C dry heat on bare steel
800°C high-temperature paint for very high-temperature industrial equipment
BAYD-JY20B and BAYD-HR900 for insulation or easy-clean special functions

Key Selection Questions

For accurate recommendation, confirm the buyer role, application area, peak and continuous temperature, substrate, surface preparation method, drying or curing condition, target color, application method, and required documents.

Service Temperature

Confirm whether the project needs +400°C dry heat, +650°C dry heat, 800-950°C resistance, insulation, or easy-clean performance.

Dry Heat vs. Other Exposure

BLA-400 and BLA-600 temperature ratings are dry heat references. Water, oil, chemicals, humidity, and thermal cycling should be reviewed separately.

Surface Preparation

Steel surfaces may need cleaning, degreasing, salt removal, blast cleaning to Sa2.5, phosphating, or roughening depending on the product route.

Film Thickness & Cure

High-temperature systems are thin-film products. Target dry film thickness, natural drying, heat curing, and final hardness timing must be confirmed.

Application Method

Spray, airless spray, air spray, brush, roller, compressed air spray, and electrostatic spray are product-specific and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Special Functions

Electrical insulation, non-stick behavior, cleanability, weathering resistance, and adhesion on metal substrates should be matched to the exact product.

Recommended Product Systems

These systems group the verified high-temperature products by customer use case, distributor selling point, OEM positioning, and contractor project requirement.

Application Workflow

Use this workflow to prepare a clearer high-temperature coating brief before requesting product selection, samples, quotation, OEM/private label discussion, or contractor recommendation.

01

Confirm Temperature Profile

Define peak temperature, continuous temperature, dry heat condition, thermal cycle, heating frequency, and whether insulation or easy-clean function is required.

02

Review Substrate

Confirm steel, zinc silicate coated steel, aluminum, metal component, electronic component, pipe, chimney, heating equipment, or repaired old coating.

03

Prepare the Surface

Remove oil, grease, salt, dirt, dust, rust, and loose coating. Use blast cleaning, phosphating, degreasing, or roughening where the selected product requires it.

04

Prepare the Coating

Stir, redisperse, thin, filter, or mix according to product requirements. JY20B and HR900 should be filtered through 150 mesh after redispersion.

05

Apply Thin Film

Apply by the verified method for the selected product, such as airless spray, air spray, brush, roller, compressed air spray, or electrostatic spray.

06

Dry, Cure & Inspect

Confirm dust dry, touch dry, recoat window, heat-curing condition, final hardness timing, appearance, adhesion, and readiness for service.

Suitable Substrates

Substrate and surface preparation drive the recommendation. Share photos, current coating condition, temperature profile, and application method before final selection.

Blast-Cleaned Steel

Steel surfaces prepared to Sa2.5 where high-temperature silicone coatings or very high-temperature paint are being considered.

Zinc Silicate Coated Steel

BLA-400 and BLA-600 can be discussed with zinc silicate surfaces where cleaning, damage repair, and recoat window are confirmed.

Flues & Exhaust Pipes

Smoke ducts, exhaust pipes, fireplace doors, sauna stoves, and hot steel parts exposed to dry heat.

Industrial Hot Equipment

Metallurgy, petroleum, chemical, thermal power, textile, printing, dyeing, and power-related mechanical equipment.

Electronic Components

Electronic industrial parts, mechanical equipment, new energy vehicle electrical components, and battery accessories requiring insulation.

Chimneys & Pipes

Industrial chimneys, pipelines, heating equipment, and metal substrates requiring high-temperature cleanability or non-stick performance.

Aluminum Roughened Surfaces

Selected JY20B and HR900 applications describe roughening aluminum substrates with 60#-100# aluminum oxide to Ra 2.0-3.5 microns.

Maintenance Repainting

Repair or repainting projects where old coating condition, cleaning feasibility, adhesion, and heat exposure must be reviewed first.
